Audio Visual Systems Design

AV Systems Design (AVSD) is a service that facilitates the design and integration of audio visual systems across central, medical, and West campuses. This includes new systems and design changes to existing systems. The team provides consulting services that take the project from inception to completion.

There are three main functions of this service:

  • Design a functional project scope to meet the vision of the project.
  • Act as single point of contact between project resources, including external vendors and University Facilities.
  • Follow through on delivery of envisioned project until completion.

Why use AVSD?

Here are some key reasons to use AVSD:

  • Expert knowledge of the AV industry with over 80 years combined experience.
  • Experience incorporating your desired project into standards, operations, and vision of AV at Yale.
  • Price comparison - We use our pool of vendors to solicit the best price, work ethic, and completed system for your project.

Who can use it?

AV Systems Design (AVSD) is an internal service provider that is offered to all Yale faculty and staff.

How much does it cost?

This service is offered to all Yale faculty and staff for fees guided by University Internal Service Provider policies and procedures.

Budget Estimate

Please note once project approval is received, final pricing from AVSD specified third party AV integration vendor will be provided as necessary. That price will reflect all necessary infrastructure, additional equipment, installation and fabrication needed to achieve the integration goals of the project. All prices estimated in the functional project scope reflect prices noted from similar work on other spaces. Each space has its own intricacies that may or may not affect final total for project.

Approval

All requesting parties are asked to please review the functional scope and estimate for the project. If this document meets the intended vision of the project, your approval is sought via email. If you would like further detail added to the scope, please contact us to add these revisions or details to the scope. Once approval is received, your AV consultant will work with you on the next steps.

Funding

The requesting parties will fund this project with PTAEO or with an account number to be provided in order for ordering to proceed.

PROJECT EXECUTION

Any changes to scope, timing or cost will be documented by the consultant and approved by the consultant and the requesting parties. Those factors contribute to delivery time. Please note that projects require at least 6-8 weeks after approval for scheduling/installation/and fully operational system delivery.

How do I get it?

To request a consult for a new AV system or upgrade to an existing one please create a new request. After your request is submitted, a consultant will reach out to begin the process.
