FAQs and other resources

Can I set up my own Basecamp account, separate from the ITS account?

Yes. Groups or individuals may establish their own Basecamp accounts using Basecamp Personal. This account type is independent of the ITS-sponsored account. ITS is unable to provide any technical or financial support for these accounts.

Note: It is not possible to transfer projects from ITS Supported Basecamp account to Basecamp Personal

What are the technical requirement for using Basecamp?

Basecamp is available anywhere you have an Internet connection. There's nothing to install, and all you need is an up-to-date web browser. If you're not sure if you've got the right browser, see browser requirements.

Can I create templates for recurring projects?

To learn how to create templates, watch this one-minute video about project templates in Basecamp. You can also use the email-in feature to add recurring lists, files and messages.

How can I add new versions of a file?

Upload the original file as normal to the Files section. The revision of that file can be uploaded as a comment on that original file, along with any notes you want to add. This way, the original file and the latest version is always in the most recent comment.

Can I change the calendar to start on Mondays?

Yes. See instructions in the Calendar guide.

How can I reset someone's password?

You can send a password reset to someone else on your account from the login page. Click on the "I forgot my username/password" under the login prompt. Then enter their email address to send them a password reset email.

Can I export my account or project from another Basecamp account?

The export feature is only available to the account owner. See Account exports. This export can't be imported into a Basecamp account, but it can make it easier to manually add data to another account. Use the Email-in feature to help with that.

Can I have more than one project owner/creator for a project?

No. Basecamp only allows for a single project owner/creator for every project.

Can a project be assigned to a new project owner/creator?

Yes, but this can only be done by the vendor and must be requested by the account administrators. Please submit a ServiceNow request to have this work done.
