Multifactor Authentication (MFA-DUO)

Multifactor Authentication (MFA) is an additional security measure to protect your intellectual property, personal information, and Yale's data. MFA adds a step to the log-in process used to access some of Yale's resources by requiring an individual, after entering their NetID and password, to prove their identity by responding to a prompt on a mobile device, landline, tablet or token.

Yale faculty, students, and staff who need access Yale's network and resources using CAS or YaleConnect when off campus or VPN from anywhere are required to use Multifactor Authentication.

NEW! Multifactor Authentication for Office 365 (MFA O365) is an optional add-on service that adds an additional security measure while using Microsoft Outlook 365 on/off campus or while traveling. MFA O365 adds one extra step to the log-in process when accessing Outlook by requiring an individual to enter a one-use code before access is granted. Users will be prompted for this code each time they login via YaleConnect Outlook Web Access and every 90 days in the Outlook Desktop and Mobile apps.
