NetID PIN Information
All Yale University students, faculty and staff members are assigned a NetID. Your NetID is automatically assigned to you when you arrive. Once assigned, your NetID cannot be changed.
PIN numbers are used to reset your NetID password. Activating your NetID with a PIN allows new users (or existing users who have forgotten their passwords) to choose a password and create accounts on Yale computer services. This process requires an eight digit code (PIN).
ITS requires identification verification prior to providing a PIN. This is a security measure for your benefit to ensure authenticity of the requester in an effort to prevent potential misuse of NetID passwords.
Staff and faculty may get their PIN from their their business manager. Business managers may obtain PINs for their staff and faculty via the IT Service Portal.
New students are sent their PIN via U.S. mail. Existing students may contact a Client Accounts representative by calling 203.432.6627 or sending an email to firstname.lastname@example.org
Alumni may complete the PIN/Password Request Verification Form and fax it to 203.785.3606 to obtain a PIN. School Of Management Alumni should contact the SOM Help Desk at 203.432.7777.
