Families with children of all ages are invited to an afternoon of free family-oriented music, dance, and circus performances; hands-on arts-and-crafts activities; and interactive educational programs. Featured performers include the ACES ECA Jazz and Vocal Ensembles, NMS Suzuki Strings, ACES ECA “Folktales from Around the World,” New Haven Ballet, Thelma Ladeira & Ginga Brasileira Dance Company with Afro-Brazilian Dances, and Caldwell Dance Center.
For the 18th year, Audubon Street itself will morph into a concrete canvas on which artists of all ages will create a meandering chalk mural. Other children's activities include a musical instrument “petting zoo,” a giant painting wall, face-painting, and art-making with recycled materials.
Audubon Arts on the Edge is organized by the Arts Council of Greater New Haven, Creative Arts Workshop, ACES Educational Center for the Arts, Neighborhood Music School, and the New Haven Ballet.
