My Apps at Yale FAQ

Q: How do I open and use one of the apps?

A: Just click on the app and it will launch; use app as you normally would.

Q: How do I save an app to my "Favorites"?

A: Once you find the app in the list of apps, click on "Details" to the right of the app. Click "Add to Favorites."

Q: Where do I save my work so I can access it later?

A: Set up cloud storage:

  • Log into Citrix Receiver if you are not already logged in
  • Launch Microsoft Word
  • On the upper left-hand side click on "Open Other Documents"
  • Click "Browse"
  • If not already expanded, click the arrow to the left of "This PC" or click on "This PC"
    • Box will be mapped to B:
      1. Click on "Box(B:)"
      2. When the "Authenticate with Box" windows appears click on "Use Single Sign On (SSO)" below
        the "Authorize" button
      3. Enter in your Yale email address and click "Authorize"
      4. Enter in your NETID and password and click "Login" on the CAS page (you cannot hit the Enter
        button after typing in your password)
      5. Click "Grant Access to Box"
      6. If you don't do the steps above in 60 seconds, after authenticating you will receive a popup that
        says the drive is not accessible. Click ok, then click on the drive again and your files will be
        available
      o Dropbox will be mapped to D:
      o Eli Apps (Yale Google Drive) will be mapped to E:
      1. Click on "Google Drive (G:)"
      2. Enter in your email address into the "Authenticate with Google" window.
      3. Enter in your Yale email address and click "Next"
      4. Enter in your NETID and password and click "Login" on the CAS page (you cannot hit the Enter
        button after typing in your password)
      5. Click "Allow" in the "Authenticate with Google" window
      6. If you don't do the steps above in 60 seconds, after authenticating you will receive a popup that
        says the drive is not accessible. Click ok and then click on the drive again and your files will be
        available
      o Personal Google drive will be mapped to G:
      o OneDrive for Business will be mapped to O:
      o OneDrive Personal will be mapped to P:
  • Close Word and log out of Citrix by clicking on the arrow next to your name in Receiver and wait 30 seconds for
    settings to synch before logging back in

Q: Do I always have to work on the same machine?

A: No. You can access all of your saved work on any of the machines marked with the "Powered by Citrix" label.
