A unique "friendly" email alias is assigned to each individual. An email alias is a convenient way to remember an email address for people at Yale. This unique email alias is assigned based on the individual's name as entered in university systems of record. In order to use a preferred first name for your email alias, first add or modify your preferred first name in your system of record. The sytem of record for Faculty and Staff is Workday and the system of record for Students is the Student Information System. Aliases are generally in the form of email@example.com or firstname.lastname@example.org. However, in order to maintain uniqueness, some aliases may be different.
