If you have lost, broken, or updated your mobile device used it for Multifactor Authentication the method of returning yourself to service can be different based on the circumstance:
I lost/broke my phone and do not have a replacement to use for authentication.
Call the ITS Help Desk at 203-432-9000. They will give you a bypass code to grant you access to Yale resources – CAS, Office 365 webmail and VPN – that require authentication.
I have a new phone with a different phone number that I can register.
Call the ITS Help Desk at 203-432-9000 for a one-time use code to help you register your device or for a one-time bypass code.
If you chose the bypass code option, you can add your new device using the Add a New Device instructions.
I have a new phone with the same phone number and I need to activate DUO on it.
You can still receive SMS text messages and phone calls to the phone to authenticate and access Yale’s resources.
See the instructions for Enrolling a New Phone with the Same Phone Number.
For other questions or concerns regarding Multifactor Authentication, please contact the ITS Help Desk at 203-432-9000.
