Service/Portfolio Governance

The Service and Portfolio governance is a unified model across project and services that works in conjunction with the pillar structure that was introduced in the Fall of 2017. The main objective is to ensure that the investments being made in IT are in alignment with the strategic objective of the University.

SPEC (Service & Portfolio Executive Committee)

The SPEC has collective accountability for the services provided by ITS.  This committee advocates for initiatives that improve the delivery of IT services, and provides leadership, oversight and operational coordination of the IT Service and Portfolio Lifecycles. The committee is composed of the John Barden, CIO ITS and the Sr. Leadership Team, and is staffed by the Directors of the Service Management and Project Management Office. The responsibilities of this committee include:

  • Service catalogue vision and strategy

  • Service portfolio performance visibility

  • Service portfolio cost visibility

  • Service catalogue changes

  • Portfolio performance visibility

  • Cross project/program delivery decisions

  • Escalation point for select high-risk service changes

CPMG (Capital Project Management Group)

The CPMG provides financial oversight for the Portfolio Project spend.
