The Center for Media and Instructional Innovation (CMI2) develops leading-edge media and courseware for teaching and learning, and oversees Yale's online learning environment Classes*v2. Our mission is to promote innovative and effective uses of technology and new media to enhance learning, both on-campus and outside of Yale.
The CMI2 offers a wide range of services:
Please see our portfolio [1] for examples of past and current projects.
We welcome ideas for projects that significantly enhance the learning experiences of Yale students and explore innovative pedagogical approaches. Our projects are typically digitally based (web, video, audio) with an emphasis on student and instructor interaction and thoughtful visual design. Projects meeting these criteria may be eligible for in-kind funding, and proposals are reviewed on a rolling basis.
The CMI2 will also consider projects developed for off-campus audiences (e.g., Yale alumni/ae, non-Yale students) provided that the project's goals connect with Yale's educational mission. Projects in this category will be quoted and charged back based on the scope of work.
Please contact our Director Ken Panko (ken.panko@yale.edu [2]) with a brief description of your ideas or teaching challenge. In our preliminary review we will determine if your idea fits within our skill set and production guidelines, or if other support venues may better meet your goals.
