On July 9, the new online version of Yale College Programs of Study (YCPS) went live at http://catalog.yale.edu/ycps. The new version of YCPS delivers improved community satisfaction by providing an enhanced user interface for students and faculty. The new YCPS contains up-to-date course listings and a wealth of other information, all accessible on a tablet, smartphone, or computer.
The new YCPS is published using CourseLeaf, a vendor hosted application from Leepfrog. We will no longer use File Maker Pro for pre-publication and InDesign for print publication.
The YCPS redesign is one part of a broader curriculum planning and publication program undertaken by the SSG Academic Administration department to replace the existing Course Proposal Form (CPF) and Course Information Management System (CIMS) over the next year.
This initiative is already having a positive effect on our clients, according to Gabriel Olszewski, University Registrar. "Early feedback has been very positive," he said. "We owe this success to the great collaboration between Student and Faculty Administrative Services and ITS."
