(Submitted by Randi McCray, Coordinator, Technical Support Training)
Youth in IT, a Yale ITS initiative to involve young people in information technology, has submitted a grant to the MacArthur Foundation seeking support for the first Web Citizenship Boot Camp.
This six-week program will give five youths ages 14-17 an opportunity to collaborate with professionals in ITS on a digital media project that promotes and advocates good web behavior. Students will participate in learning sessions, shadow ITS employees, and work toward making the web a safe place for all. Participating departments include the Instructional Technology Group, Broadcast & Media, the Student Technology Collaborative, and Information Security.
The grant is open for review and voting on the MacArthur Foundation website. Please take a moment to review the program summary and cast your vote in support of this project.
