Apple Mail Mac OSX 10.6 or later (Older versions of Apple Mail will not connect to Exchange 2010 except as a generic IMAP client)
This document is intended to show the configuration of Apple Mail for a system that has had an email account previously configured. If this is a fresh install of Apple Mail you will be prompted with the following screen once when running Apple mail for the first time.
Click Make Outlook the default application for e-mail, calendar, and contacts
Click Add Account
Proceed to Step 5 in the Configuration section of this document
Open Apple Mail
On the Apple Mail menu bar across the top of the screen click Mail -> Preferences
The Accounts window will open
Click the Plus Sign (+) button in the lower left hand corner of the Accounts window
The Add Account window will appear. Fill in the following Full Name:Firstname LastName E-mail address:firstname.lastname@example.org Password:Your NetID password
Your account will auto-discover and the Accounts window will appear with your account information.
The Accounts window will appear with the Yale Exchange account added. Change the following
Close the Accounts window by clicking the red x in the top left corner
The Save changes…window will appear. Clicking Save completes the addition of the YaleConnect account to Apple Mail. The account may take sometime to sync with the server, wait until it is finished.
