Connect to VPN to Access Yale Resources Off-Campus

If you are traveling away from Yale, you need to first establish a connection to the Yale VPN to gain access to some Yale resources.

Windows

Please visit https://access.yale.edu to connect to the Yale VPN.

Mac OS X

Please visit https://access.yale.edu using Safari to connect to the Yale VPN.

First-time install on Mac OS X 10.7 or Later

If you are using OS X 10.7 or later, you may need to activate the Java plug-in to complete the install. Please follow the instructions outlined below.

Visit https://access.yale.edu using the Safari browser.
Login using your NetID and Password.
If this is your first time using the VPN, the application will install the VPN client for you.
A status window will show your progress.
By default, Java is disabled in OS X 10.7 and later. To activate it, click on the Inactive Plug-in link below the status window.
You will be asked to confirm that you want to turn on the plug-in. Click Enable.
You will then asked to confirm Java's security certificate. Click Allow.
The VPN will now install.
You may see the error message shown below in the status window. This is normal when you first install the software.
To confirm you have connected to the VPN, check for the CiscoAnyConnect icon near the clock. This icon will have a lock over it while you are connected to the VPN.
